Just another day

This past weekend we got the chance to go back home to Vegas and visit all our family!  We went to a going away for our friend Devin Ingram who deploys to Afghanistan sometime in the next 2 weeks! :( So that was ALOT of fun but a tad depressing at the same time. Tony, Devin, Joe and Alvie all went up to Brianhead Utah to go downhill mountain biking and have some "bromance" time together! They had a blast except Alvie got some gnarly bruises and abbrasians ALL over his body, even his face :( ! So putting the alcohol on those cuts was kinda hilarious/ kinda sad because he was holding back screaming at me haha.  Joe got some good cuts on his bum and of coarse Devin and Tony ( who were wearing so much protective gear it's ridiculous) didn't get a SCRATCH!  ( they think their just bad asses ha)

While the boys were off doing their thing Stella and I were making our rounds around Vegas visiting as many people as we could! We got to see Grandad, Grammie, Great Grandma Rust, and Great Papa Rocco! Everyone just eats up how adoreable stella is and it just makes me laugh. She's dang cute but a little destructive monster at times!

We visited Tracy and Alecia and Stella got to play with Hunter and Kaiden! They're SOOOO Cute, but none can get around quite as well as Stella yet. We had to ward off Stella from jumping and smacking the boys but overall it was a success!

When Tony got back we went to eat with my family at Bucca di BePo for my Aunt Cheri's birthday party! My cousin Kelly was in town from Virginia to party at the strip so it was a delight to have her there as well. It was a fun filled even that actually had ZERO drama. Which is NOT typical so it was amazing :)

Logan had a blast with Stella and she just adores him! I wish we could be around all my family more because I miss them, but it was nice to get home to our cooler climate!

Shopping from my couch

“If I don’t want to move from this spot, I don’t have to!” This remark was not in the average American’s vocabulary in the 1950’s however now this is a saying that can be reiterated numerous times throughout the day, and in any household throughout the United States. Thanks to the World Wide Web we are now able to sit on our couch, literally all day long, and still have our errands run. Online shopping has become a staple in how Americans can purchase clothing. Though in recent years this has expanded to grocery shopping, movie rentals, even finding a boyfriend doesn’t need actual human contact anymore.

The multitude of power we’ve been given by a click of a mouse is a tad overpowering. The idea was a well thought out one of coarse, because our society is banking on less work more pleasure. The convenience if you are a single mother of 3 and work a full time job could but substantial, but why would you not want to try on your clothing before you buy it, and have your ice-cream minutes after you purchase it.  Pure and astonishing laziness is the only outcome I can see.

I feel that our economy is struggling because of this power. A great part of the American workforce is in the retail industry, and if we are all sitting on our couches instead of browsing through aisles at the stores, those jobs will eventually diminish completely.  It has been said that those who are trying to be environmental friendly are partaking in the online shopping world because they feel that the less they get in their car, the less emissions are let out around the country. However these people are incorrect, the only way this would be beneficial is if 25 orders were delivered at the same time. The emissions let out by huge diesel trucks is more than the consumers’ vehicle driving to a store.

One huge upset with online shopping is how simple you are able to become a victim of fraud. You can buy on eBay and use pay pal, which says to be a guarantee to give you your money back if you are stood up. However, they don’t tell you that if you are sent unusable goods, or something insufficient of what you ordered they would not pay you back. The only way you are reimbursed is if you receive absolutely nothing. On top of that the Internet is swarming with scammers and virus’s, if you are constantly putting in your credit card information, there is a high chance that it will be stolen.

Online shopping’s risks outweigh the benefits in my house. I want to be able to go Christmas shopping with my family, and pick out my DVD’s in person, feel the apples for bruises and meet the person I am choosing to date face to face. The economy may have a sudden burst if online shopping came to an end, but who am I to know. I just know that sometimes the technology advances in our society are the reasons we America has the reputation of the laziest people in the world.
